Swapping
Pick two tokens, type an amount, confirm. Behind the scenes LitVMSwap checks the pools and sends your trade through whichever route gives you the most.
Your first swap
Open Swap
Go to litvmswap.com/swap and connect your wallet. Make sure it's on LitVM.
Pick the tokens
Top box is what you pay, bottom box is what you get. Tap a token to search by name, symbol or contract address.
Type an amount
The bottom box fills in with the best price found. Have a look at the details before you go on: the rate, the route and the minimum received.
Approve (first time only)
Paying with a token (not zkLTC)? Your wallet will first ask you to approve it. That lets the swap contract move that token for this trade. It's a separate small transaction, and you usually only do it once per token.
Confirm
Hit Swap and confirm in your wallet. LitVM is fast, so it's usually done in a second or two. You'll get a link to the transaction on the explorer.
Slippage, explained like you're busy
Prices can move between the moment you click and the moment your trade lands. Slippage is how much movement you're OK with.
- At 0.5%, if you were quoted 100 tokens you'll get at least 99.5, or the swap cancels itself and you keep your tokens (you only pay the gas).
- Tiny, calm pairs: low slippage is fine.
- New or very volatile tokens: you may need a bit more. Go up slowly. Very high slippage invites bots to give you a worse price.
Price impact
Big trade, small pool? Your own trade moves the price. If the app warns you about high price impact, try a smaller amount or split it into a few swaps.
Routes
You don't need to pick a pool. The app compares the V2 and V3 pools and uses the best one for your trade, and shows you which it picked in the swap details.
zkLTC and wzkLTC
Swapping zkLTC to wzkLTC (or back) is a straight 1:1 wrap, no routing and no price movement.
When a swap fails
Don't panic, your tokens are still in your wallet. A failed transaction only costs the gas. Common reasons:
| What happened | Try this |
|---|---|
| Price moved more than your slippage | Try again. For a jumpy token, nudge slippage up a little |
| Not enough zkLTC for gas | Keep a little zkLTC in your wallet |
| Wallet on another network | Switch to LitVM (chain 4441) |
| Approval didn't go through | Approve again, then swap |
Anyone can create a token with any name, including "USDC" or a copy of a popular meme. Before buying something new, compare its contract address with an official source.
