Safety and FAQ

Crypto is fun until someone loses their stuff. Two minutes here can save you a lot of grief.

The golden rules

• Never share your recovery phrase or private key. Not with support, not with a "dev", not with anyone. Nobody from LitVMSwap will ever ask for it.
• We never DM first. If "LitVMSwap support" messages you out of nowhere, it's a scammer.
• Check the URL. The app lives at www.litvmswap.com. Bookmark it and use the bookmark.
• Check token addresses. Names and logos are easy to copy. Contract addresses aren't.
• Read what you sign. If your wallet shows something you didn't expect (a weird approval, a transfer to a stranger), reject it.

Approvals

When you approve a token, you let a contract move that token for you. That's needed for swaps and pools. Good habits:

• Approve only on litvmswap.com and only for what you're doing.
• Every now and then, review your approvals on the explorer or with an approval manager, and revoke the ones you don't use.

Spotting a dodgy token

Not every token is out to get you, but watch for these:

• It copies a big name and the address doesn't match the official one.
• Someone in a group chat is pushing it very hard, very fast.
• You can buy, but small test sells fail.
• "Guaranteed" returns. There's no such thing.

FAQ

Is LitVMSwap custodial?

No. You trade straight from your own wallet. Your tokens are never sent to us to hold.

What does it cost?

Every transaction pays a little gas in zkLTC. Swaps and pools also have trading fees, which the app shows you before you confirm. What you see as "you receive" is already after fees.

My swap failed but I lost some zkLTC?

That's the gas for the attempt. The tokens you tried to swap are still in your wallet. See when a swap fails.

I sent tokens to the wrong address. Can you get them back?

Sadly no. Transactions on a blockchain are final and nobody, including LitVMSwap, can reverse them. Double check addresses before you send.

Why don't I see my token in the list?

The token list only shows listed tokens. You can still find most tokens by pasting their contract address in the token search. Unlisted means not checked, so be careful.
